Today we continue our study of the questions of the catechism on the First Commandment. We learn about the sins against hope and love as well as the reason that love of the saints does not conflict with the First Commandment. Sometimes other Christians accuse us of disobeying the First Commandment because we love the Saints and Our Lady. We know these devotions only lead us to God, but the bishops who made up the Baltimore Catechism wanted us to have definite answers about the subject to know what we believe and explain it to others. The last part of today’s lesson explains why we should be grateful for unpleasant weather!
